Art From Private Collections on Washington Island

The Washington Island Art Association is sponsoring a new Art Show and Sale! This show is entitled “Art From Private Collections on the Island”, and the opening reception for this show is Sunday, August 18, at 4pm at the Art and Nature Center.

Several Islanders have mentioned that they have pieces of Original Artwork, and now wish to make it available for sale. It is indeed a rare opportunity to be able to acquire some Vintage Original artwork that has been in a collection for possibly many years. Each work of art will have information regarding the artist and any other details of interest. The art will not necessarily be Island artists’ creations, although they will be included if they are members of the ANC.

If you possess original artwork or a numbered print that you would like to include in this sale, the only requirement is that you be a member of the Art and Nature Center, which is a nominal annual fee of $25. A few professional artists here on the island will help track down information regarding your art, if you don’t already have it. The owners of each piece can state that the art is “From the collection of“ (their name) or “anonymous”. Any work that is sold at this show will be subject to the 30% commission rate for the ANC.

Start now to look around your home and decide if you want to enter any of your artwork in this exhibit.  Space is limited and we want to have a variety of artwork.  So, let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in participating in this new and exciting exhibit.
